David’s commitment to our community is proven through years of active, hands-on involvement:

• Consistent Advocacy: A familiar face at City Hall, David has actively attended City Commission meetings and events since 2016 to stay ahead of local issues and represent resident interests.

• Civic & Visionary Leadership: David served as a member of the Sunny Isles Beach Vision: Planning for Tomorrow focus group, providing vital resident feedback to help guide sensible future development in two key city districts.

• Municipal Knowledge: A graduate of the 2023 Sunny Isles Beach Residents’ Academy, David gained an in-depth understanding of municipal operations, departmental responsibilities, emergency services, and city infrastructure.

• Community Service: David volunteered for city events such as Halloween’s Booogie by the Beach and Easter’s Egg Scramble in his high school years. He has also regularly volunteered at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church since 2011.

• Local Perspective: An avid hobbyist photographer, David’s photos have been selected for the city’s annual photo contest across multiple years. Taking daily walks through our neighborhoods keeps him connected to the everyday pulse of city.

Proven Voice at Commission Meetings

David doesn't just watch city decisions happen, he steps up to offer real solutions and ideas. Over the years, he has taken the podium to advocate for practical improvements involving:

• Mobility & Public Transit: Advocated to preserve city shuttle bus routes so seniors, students, and residents retain dependable, free-to-ride local transportation. David was also an active CITT Ambassador since 2023, where he regularly shared his experiences and observations regarding Miami-Dade Transit systems.

• Pedestrian & Traffic Safety: Continuously pushes for better roadway crossings and safer speed limits for both walkers, bicyclists, and drivers.

• Public Amenities: Requested expanded hours for the Newport Fishing Pier following pandemic-era restrictions, and advocated for the addition of more benches and trash receptacles along North Bay Road to enhance resident comfort and street cleanliness.

• Infrastructure & Flooding: Provided on-the-ground feedback regarding stormwater pump performance to help mitigate street flooding during high tides and heavy rain in the Central Island area.
